Reader Engagement Project:
THE BOOK
In the novel Keepers of the Labyrinth by Erin E. Moulton (Penguin Young Readers Group), a test of will and skill is laid out for teenagers at a leadership retreat in Crete.
Unbeknownst to the teens, the retreat center sits above the Labyrinth of Greek legend. The leadership retreat’s secret mission is to choose the four teens that will fulfill the future roles of those that protect the Labyrinth. Those teens are chosen by how they perform in a series of tests presented to their team.
“Secret societies, Greek mythology, and a group of strong female characters are all wrapped up in a mystery which will hit the mark with readers who have finished Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson” series.”

GREEK MYTHOLOGY TRIVIA GAME & MEDALLION CRAFT
Author and teen librarian Erin E. Moulton paired up with Curious City DPW to create a series of linked activities worthy of the book geek gods (if not the Greek ones).
The kit provides you with all the materials to:
— Advertise the event to Greek God Geeks.
— Group readers into teams using the medallions of the 4 roles that keep the Labyrinth.
— Send teams through a “labyrinth” in your stacks or space.
— Test your teams knowledge of Greek history and mythology.
— Determine each reader’s role as a “Keeper of the Labyrinth” with a personality test.
— Create Keeper medallions using Shrinky Dinks materials (art by talented Erin E. Moulton)!

I would love to have a copy of this in the library. It would be a great fit in support of our 9th grader’s study on Greek mythology this upcoming spring!
You will not regret it! Also full of STEM possibilities. Moulton’s Labyrinth runs not by the magic of Gods alone, but by hydraulics and other mechanisms. VERY cool book!
I would love a copy of this for the library as well.
I would love to have a program centered around this!
If you use the kit, we would love your feedback!
I would love the event kit! We are calling our SRP Reading is Magic! and this will work really well with my teen
All yours, Annie!
